Even though I refuse to believe I'm actually an adult, there have been a few times in my recent life that has made me feel 'adult-ish'. I still have to call my mom every time I need to do laundry, and you can bet your life savings that I still spend long hours watching animated movies on Netflix. However, I have to admit the adult life is slowly taking over. Can I get an 'Oh no'?
1// I set-up my own appointments
Usually if I need to schedule any kind of an appointment, my mother handles it so that I can get them all done when I return home during a break. Since my work schedule makes it nearly impossible to get home in time for any appointments, I had to find new places for these services. All was going great until I told the dentist office the wrong insurance. To save myself from screwing up even more, I had my mom call them to set everything straight.
2// I grocery shop on my own
Okay, I need mac n' cheese, 2% milk.... Oh, and that one-pound bag of mozzarella cheese is on sale: Get it!
3// I have to start creating valid life goals
Apparently striving to become someone with three cats, 2 Golden Retrievers, and a pufferfish doesn't look good on a cover letter. Getting a job in PR or Marketing, though? That's realistic... isn't it?
4// I feel the need to go to bed at 9pm... on Fridays
Okay... This isn't a new concept. I love hanging out with my friends just as much as the next person, but the later I stay up the more likely I am to spend my paycheck on the entire Taco Bell Menu.
5// and wake up at 6am... everyday
I've never been a morning person. I remember when I used to show horses every weekend, and I'd fall asleep on the toilet at 4am (#tmi). Now it seems like I have to wake up at that time because getting work done after 9pm the night before is impossible. Positive note: I am nearly always ready to take over my 8am class.
Enjoyed the post? Let me know what makes you feel like an adult! :) #waitimanadult
Haha love this! Especially about becoming a morning person. Having to pay council tax definitely makes me feel like an adult now!

Thanks Saadiya :D Yea, everything I get my paycheck back and see how much has been deducted for taxes I'm like "So this is what it means to be an adult" :D Haha, hope all is well! Thanks for commenting!

OK - I am loving your use of gifs! I love reading blogs with them, they are so fun! And I agree - I am nineteen too, and I feel nowhere near adult enough to be considered one! This was a great read, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Morgan! Just today I went to the DMV to get my license renewed, and in Nebraska the orientation of your ID changes when you turn 21. It made 'being an adult' way too real!
DeleteThanks for reading and the nice compliment :)
