One Direction Covers You HAVE To Watch

Many of you may or may not know that I am also a Vlogger/YouTuber.  I basically just talk about anything and everything that I love and attempt to entertain!  My most recent 'thing' is an Oreo Talk.  I basically eat Oreos while I talk about some of my favorite things!  You can check out that video HERE, even though it has nothing to do this this post at all.

-moving on-

One thing I love about YouTube is that it gives ordinary people (like me and you) a chance to follow our dreams through a different medium.  You'll find singers, actresses, motivational speakers, filmers, dj's, hosts, and a bunch of other types of people who are trying to make it big.  I'm a HUGE fan of looking-up covers of popular songs.  When I hear a new song on the radio, one of the first things I do is check-out YouTube to see how people are interpreting the song.  One set that I'm a big fan of is the One Direction Covers.  I love to look at how they've changed the songs to make them their own.  Let this be known, though, that I'm quite picky on the covers that I share, and the selected below beat out a lot of other covers for this post.

#5: What Makes You Beautiful covered by iwantaltitude

Talk about an undiscovered gem!  Sure, she's got over 40K views on the video, but there's other covers that have MILLIONS of views that don't even compare to her.  She changed the song in a way that still made it really fun to listen to, and she did it with such ease and class.  I've been a huge fan of her's for awhile now, and I'm glad I got to include her in this list.  She definitely deserves the credit.

#4: I Would covered by Justin Salvanera

When I first heard this cover I jumped up-and-down out of pure excitement.  This is one of my favorite songs by One Direction, and I have had a lot of trouble trying to find a cover that did it justice. Congrats to Justin, because I think this is one of the hardest songs of their's to cover.

#3: Little Things covered by Lucy Anna Walters

One thing I hate that happens when people cover this song is when they add too many instruments.  The original song is famous because of the words, not the music behind it.  That's why it took me FOREVER to un-dig a cover that I felt did the song justice.  I'm not saying that the more popular covers are bad, but I feel like this song needs to be stripped down and simple.  I love this cover and plan to follow this girl for more amazing ones.

#2: Moments covered by Jamie McDell

I actually discovered this cover a long time ago and have yet to get tired of it.  The only thing I've never liked about this song is the fact that it isn't stripped-down like Little Things.  I feel like, with the powerful lyrics, it should have been recorded just acoustic.  However, it was still completely capable of making my eyes a little misty at their concert.  This is honestly the only cover I've found that holds the emotions and feelings that are meant to be portrayed.

#1:  Best Song Ever covered by Gabrielle Aplin on BBC Radio 1

If I wasn't so obsessed with this radio station; I probably would have never found this one.  It's not hard to figure out why she's stolen the top spot.  I'm still trying to decided if I like this better than the original!  She basically took a fast-pace party song and turned it into something with a lot more emotion and ease.  Even though she changed it to a slower-pace at the beginning, it still had a great turn-around beat at 1:57.  She's become one of my new favorite artists to watch.

If you really enjoyed this type of post, please let me know in the comments so I can continue with Music Mondays.  If you liked what you saw above be sure to go to their channels and show them some love, and let them know I sent you :)
