#WhyI'mSingle

If it's not completely obvious already; I'm obsessed with Twitter.  Not only is it perfect to stalk my favorite celebrities, but I also get to converse with a lot of amazing bloggers!  A totally cool (but completely off topic) thing is that I had around 90 followers last month and now I have 130!  I FEEL SO POPULAR!  That's still over 150 less than my brother, but I'm making progress.  The day I pass him in followers is the day I can officially be named the superior sibling.  If you want to join-in on my crazy, sarcastic, fan-girly tweets; you can follow me by clicking on the little bird under by intro picture. >

Now that my shameless plug is finished, it's time to see what inspired me from Twitter!  I haven't been able to find any recent tweets that inspired a post; however, a recent hashtag sprouted some very interesting thinking.

To be completely honest; I've never really wondered why I'm single, but after seeing this hashtag trending for two days straight; I decided to give it a little thought.  There's obviously SOME kind of a reason (or reasons) as to why I've never had a boyfriend.  Since no one ever has the heart to tell me; I've compounded a small list of possible reasons.  Let's take a look shall we?

1//  I'm a slightly weird person.
I've always seen weird as a side-effect of being awesome, but some people just don't think so!  I'm a very unique mix of a person, and I have yet to meet someone who is able to handle all of this:

2// I'm not a huge fan of going out.
To be completely honest, I'd rather sit at home and talk with someone instead of going out to the movies or something.  I've always enjoyed just simply talking with someone, and going out-and-about has never been a huge thing with me.  I'm very easily entertained, so lavish and expensive stuff is nice, but a movie rental and take-out is also an easy way to my heart.

3// I have a passionate love of boybands.
No worries, I don't obsessively think I'll meet and marry one of these boys, but a girl can dream right?  I'm starting to think that this MIGHT be a little bit of a BIG turn-off for guys.  I mean what other girl would wear a Future Mrs. Nick Jonas shirt to TWO of their concerts? (note: I was in middle school)

Don't look too closely, I might blind you with my braces.
4// I hate talking about relationships.
Wanna make our relationship public? HA! Cool story, bro.  I MAY change my Facebook relationship status so people back home will stop asking if I finally found a boy.  Don't expect love-filled tweets or long-passionate Facebook wall conversations, because if I have something to tell you; it'll be to your face IN PRIVATE. Other than my few BFF's and family, our relationship will be exactly what it should be: between us.

5// I'm way too good-looking.

I should definitely consider modeling as a future career.  Seriously though, I guess guys are just put-off by my stunning good looks and ability to look flawless while eating three pounds of seafood.

6// I'm very picky.
I was actually kind of dating a kid once, but I ended-up friend-zoning him.  He was one of the nicest guys I've ever met, but I knew from the start that he wasn't the one for me.  A lot of my friends told me to give it a try and see if I fell for him, but I think I'd hate myself more if I led him on.  I may have high standards, but I'm not going to settle for second best.  I only ever want to say "I Love You" to three men: My Dad, My Brother, and The Chosen One (quirky HP reference).  And if all else fails; I have no problem becoming a crazy cat lady.

7// I hate PDA.
I can handle a little hand-holding and a shy kiss on the cheek, but anything more than G-rated is off-limits.  I still cringe away from movies that have too much kissing.

8// It's just something I don't really worry about.
I've never really been boy crazy or worried about having a boyfriend.  I actually had someone ask me during high school, "Don't you want a boyfriend?"  Sure, it'd be nice to meet a really swell guy who carries heavy things to my car and accompanies me on boring errands.  However; to be completely, totally, and brutally honest: I don't really care.  I'm more likely to worry about my schooling or future career.  Getting a boyfriend is not something I spend my days fretting about.  I know, however, that God will put the right man in my life when the time comes, and until then He's my #1 Man.

  1. Hi five to being weird and quirky. But don't count that as a fault! My bf actually tells me that's one of the biggest reason why he dates me (my weird and quirkiness). He says my ability to be who I am and ALL my faults around him makes him feel comfortable enough to be himself.

So… in retrospect, being weird and quirky is a PLUS and a reason why a guy should WANT to date you. ;)

  5. You're so adorable. Seriously. I love that pic of you eating seafood, haha, cracked me up. And I think it's great that you're not sweatin it right now. There's plenty of time for boyfriends and dating, etc. And you're right, when the time comes, "the one" will most certainly make his appearance. :)

    1. That was from my graduation party! I didn't get the chance to eat before everyone came, so I had to sneak food throughout the entire thing! My brother was enjoying taking pictures of me in unflattering mid-bites!

Thanks for the nice comment :)

  8. yeah, but how many comments does your brother have on his blog. Most likely zero! Kudos to you for being totally cool with who you are. Trust me, high school and college romances come with a crazy amount of drama. Hold out for that boy who compliments your life, not complicates it.
